Achieving my weekly goals - Monday

If you managed to drag yourself through my last post you would have read that I've decided to make myself achievable monthly goals.  I've actually narrowed that down to daily ones.  To an extent this ties in with my Declutter Challenge so I'll fit those in here instead of makin a separate post for them - I'd pretty much reneged on that anyway having got stuck in the WIP process.

Today is only day one - the novelty is still fresh - so I won't be holding my breath with any anticipation but today I started my list of 15 items to be completed by the end of the week.  I'm not going to publish it here and bore you to tears - I found that my Thirty Days of Me goals were a bit difficult to access so these one's I'm going to print out on A4 and hang somewhere obvious - easier to refer to.  But I will post about my achievements as I do them - hopefully that will fuel my motivation to finish the list.  I was thinking about 14 - ie two each day but I think the list is short enough that it won't matter which ones I complete or the number I complete as long as I know what I'm working towards.

Today I've managed:

  1. To finish a portion of a Spring Butterfly knitting project for a friends daughters birthday - to be completed by 17 December.  When I decided upon it I actually got to work right away to get it out of the way.  It's now in it's WIP bag put away for next weeks update on it.
  2. To make polymer clay buttons for Zoe's Christmas dress - realised as I was typing this up that they were supposed to be baked for 15 minutes and that they've been in the oven for hours - I forgot.  But for some reason they're fine - still warm but not burned.  Not quite sure how that happened but I'm grateful that it did.
  3. My Ten Minutes of Peace.  This is something I'd like to do every day.  Today it was a bonding session with Zoe as we let these little guys out for their evening run.

After dispatching the roosters look what turned up in our front paddock a couple of days ago.  It prompted the fast tidy up of the old chook pen and construction of a "nursery".  We're still trying to coax the other two big hens inside - they have been laying in it but after we moved it and cleaned it out they're not so keen so it will be a few days of depositing their food in the run.  Will be good to lock them up safely at night and nice to get the eggs.

And all the while this little one was giving me a reprieve.  Thank you honey.

On top  of these I've done a few little things towards finishing some of the other goals so I'm on the way to having a good week.
