Today is my "weekend"

It's been a mad week what with me starting my new part time job, being incredibly sick at the same time and Himself and co deciding to focus on paperwork (with the end result being an enormous amount of work for me).  I also had a wee bit of transcription to do (yay!  no I mean it yay - the more I do the more I get paid, the more bills get paid).

Two things I noticed were that I managed to slug my way through my first day of work feeling like death but not realising until later that pre children I would have called in sick - well maybe not on my first day.  The second is that 4 hours doesn't seem right.  I think I keep going back to my pre children 8/9 hour days and 4 feels almost like I'm cheating LOL.  Anyway, hopefully it will eventually build up.  Until then I'm buckling down and working hard - Rule Number One - no personal Internet action at work - got caught up in that in my old full time jobs so I'm making that rule from Day One.  I have plenty of opportunity to do that at home.

Today is my "weekend" with tomorrow night being the first night of the week at my supermarket job.  So today, while I HAVE been working doing bits and pieces for Himself's business I've been wandering a bit and getting little bits done for myself and giving myself a bit of leisure time.

Because we're rural I prefer not to wear my "corporate" shoes to the car before work.  A plastic bag wasn't going to suffice when it hit me that Logan is almost out of nappies and his travel nappy totes would be a perfect size to fit a pair of shoes and keep them clean.  I've nabbed one and will eventually nab them all.  Thank goodness I made a couple out of pretty fabric rather than having to have them all teddy bear patterned (yes I actually have around 6 pairs of shoes I could call corporate now - thank you op shops and Dress For Success - even my "about town" shoes are possibly corporate wearable!!)

More of a repurpose than a crafting project but as my declutter mode is on I'm feeling rather proud.

I think I made this for Zoe's 3rd Birthday.  A $5 special from Whitcoulls when you bought something else and a little fabric paint and voila!  She's since moved on to a little Barbie Backpack (traitor) and I've snaffled her another, larger one from the Op shop for School that will need a few touch ups but is in relatively good nik.

So what to do with Logan now that he is a big Kindy Boy.  Well wait for a $5 special at The Warehouse and throw a few vehicles on it.  TBH they're a bit messy for my liking but he'll be happy and it's unique (unlike Zoe's Barbie bag which I can't always find amongst the mass of other licensed backpacks at Kindy!!!)

Red Glitter Fire Engine - they didn't have straight red - it's the only colour I had to buy - I mean you can't have a fire engine any other colour can you!!

The Tractor - Yeah I'm not sure it looks like a tractor and it was hard to get the thick paint even and smooth.

The Jeep - just like Daddy's (only his is black and we didn't have any black paint - can't you tell - all the tyres are silver LOL.

A yellow(?) digger

A streaky helicopter - that green should really get biffed - might have to redo the greens methinks!
