The Things I Do!!

I'm giving myself a break this week and simply working on things I want to as I want to.  I'll still get things done but without a list to follow.

Monday
*Something I had in my Ravelry project list - Mittens for Gracie.

Tuesday
*"A tisket, a tasket, a dolly stroller basket".  I didn't get this bit finished for Christmas - it just finishes off the stroller.

* Three Christmas Tree Ornaments.  Um yes it is a little late but actually it's a lot early.  I need 48 new ornaments for the advent calendar next year so I thought I'd get going early.  I picked these three up, along with five stocking shapes, from an op shop a month or so ago - never got around to improving them - they were pretty basic and as they were in my "downstairs WIP box" the content of which I'm trying to move upstairs I thought I'd get these done as a quick project.  I'm pretty much improvising with how I'm decorating them - just looking around downstairs and using up bits and pieces.

Wednesday
*Five Christmas Stocking Ornaments.  I started these yesterday along with the Christmas Trees.  Eight ornaments down - forty to go!!  I think I might go through our current ornament stash and cull some of the less attractive and completely non-sentimental ones - otherwise the new ones will never fit!!

Thursday
*It was a push but I got it done - a sunglasses case for Zoe's sunglasses.  The last pair got broken within a week by Mr Break Everything Logan.  Admitedly they're only from the $2 shop but it all adds up.  The pattern needs a lot of tweaking but I'd really like to develop it and make a few for my Felt shop.

Friday
*I'm really keen on completing a project a day - perhaps I'll make that a holiday challenge and ease off a bit when everything gets back to normal (ie Himself goes back to work and we don't spend all day watching the movies he borrowed from a friend).  Today I completed a belt - long overdue - to hold up my jeans which have a habit of slipping!!  I've had this on my Ravelry watchlist for an eternity and had several yarns to choose from for it.  I ended up using some recycled Crucci Cotton/Lambswool/Other combination.  It's nice.  I could have had it finished in one morning but I wanted to jazz it up a bit with homemade polymer clay beads purpose-made as I completed the fringing.  I left them all unpolished to keep in with the natural feel of it.

Saturday and Sunday
I think I exhausted my inspiration - have not felt like doing anything much.  Spent the whole weekend with Himself and the kids, at the beach on Saturday and in the paddling pool on Sunday - everybody needs a break :o)

  1. Isn't it great when you can just create as the mood takes you rather than doing things because you have to??
I think the mittens are my favourite :)

  2. Totally agree Anne. My biggest problem though is that I feel guilty about those things that I SHOULD be doing - like finishing the million and one WIP's!!! LOL. Yes Gracie is a real member of our family so she warrants a few of the finer things in life - like pink mittens.
