Hanging out for my ornament swap!

Our Christmas tree is looking a little bare.

...That's because we're developing a new tradition for us.  This year it's very haphazard as there were a few teething problems (one being that I never got around to making the advent calendar) but what we're doing is every day the kids get to open the corresponding door on their advent calendars (care of Grandma - thank goodness she was organised), eat the treat and then delve, eyes closed, into the Christmas ornament bag for an ornament to hang on the tree - notice the lopsided loading of the tree - that's because I have to lift Logan onto the fire box to hang his ornament and Zoe, not wanting to be outdone refuses to climb up on the couch wanting to climb up on the fire box too.

Next year there will be a homemade advent calendar with non-edible treats as well as homemade ones and hopefully a whole different set of Christmas ornaments (not that they'll remember these ones next year anyway) care of Nan and Pop who are handing down Himselfs ornaments from Christmases past.  Grandma always gives the kids an ornament each year for the tree and I like to make some each year.  I was hoping that Zoe would help me out this year with minature Christmas Bunting but she lost interest part way through so maybe next year.

Also, next year I'll hang the lights first - not quite sure how I'm going to do that now - maybe I'll use this photo as a reference, take all the oranmens down while they sleep, put the lights on and rehang the ornaments.

Am also waiting on ornaments from a swap I participated in and there are bound to be a few more from Kindy that Zoe's been making.
