So not a crafty post but I'm feeling the need to ramble and this IS supposed to be a blog for me to gain some therapeutic benefits.
I'm feeling really good today. Very positive for the first time in about three weeks. The illnesses that have plagued us over the past few weeks have really waned now and just a bit of residual coughing and a case of conjunctivitus - oh and an allergy to the pine pollen which is coating everything around at the moment. Even with a headache this morning the drained feeling I've had has pretty much gone. This morning, Day One of the Fairy Reward Chart, Zoe didn't come out of her bedroom until asked and the first thing she asked for she said Please without prompting - I was blown away. Makes me think her behaviour is totally attention based. A few years back she was atrocious at jigsaw puzzles just not getting it at all. Then one day she was putting a jigsaw together with a friend of ours and was putting every piece in place at record speed - I realised then that my little miss had been playing me - that she knew perfectly well how to do jigsaws and was probably just trying to spend more time with me!! At daycare I found out that she and her friends were jigsaw whizkids!!!
The house isn't pristine but it's looking less like a tornado has just gone through it and I started a knitting project on Saturday so I'm feeling a little more fulfilled creatively (along with the reward chart yesterday). I have a laundry basket packed full with five packages of fabric for posting and I've just made a mental talley of what is left. Some I will donate to Kindi and I've picked out a couple of pieces I want to reclaim to make specific things - if they don't sell first that is. One is a piece of amethyst satin which would make a great wizards cape and hat (I think I might have to invest in a pattern for kids capes as I have a few I want to make), another is a piece of turquoise knit which will probably make some nice underwear for Logan who is showing more and more interest in using the toilet. I'm a bit iffy on another two - one COULD make a work skirt but it's not perfect so I might flag that - the other would make decent trousers for Logan but I don't know if I can be bothered and he's probably got enough in the next couple of sizes anyway.
Hardly any of the velours have sold and I'm thinking witch cape with the black and princess dress with the textured lavender panne. One of the browns would make a great bear or dog costume but I don't seriously think I'll have time to make it - I'd need a pattern for sure. I'm a bit gutted about the yellow knit which I might make a jacket out of for Zoe - I don't want to give that away. I might also make some singlets for Logan out of the other turquoise knit - see in the end I didn't get rid of much did I! I've already reclaimed white, light pink and dark pink knits for singlets and knickers and a piece of beautiful marle brown didn't make it into the photos - a waistcoat for me I decided. But I can see the wood for the trees at the moment. Hopefully some of the other things will get sold before I finish up. I'll reduce prices too.
