Flowers and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails...

Couldn't resist this shot - Zoe decorated Logans Spiderman shoes with apple blossum and buttercups - very arty.

We have a new addition to our household - actually we have four new additions.  Whilst lying on our couch the other day with Zoe at the other end I heard a giggle and a comment "she's slobbering all over my arm".  Never have I moved so quickly - she might like them but I'm not a fan...

She now has four of these in a container with my thinned out lettuces - yes I was going to give them to the neighbour but there was more urgency for these little lovelies (yes that is sarcasm).  For a kid that won't go up to her room by herself because she's scared of snakes (of which we have none in NZ) she's very brave as far as these go!!!

This is simply to make the title correct LOL - one of Zoe's photography attempts...

Ok, so you can't really see their tails but....

I'm a collector!!!

In a previous post I found these cute little spice tins for 50 cents each.  A visit to a different op shop found two more, not in as quite good condition, for 10 cents each - I grabbed them to join their friends on our paper towel roll shelf (made by himself when he was a kid).

And I finally got back in our garden yesterday.  After having our radishes devastated by a chook and then 50% of my seeds not germinating (other than the lettuces of which I'm sure 150% came up!) I got to work replanting and replacing the wire with bird netting.  It's been a push to be productive of late - I've not been coping too well with life in general and sleeping a lot so any progress in any area is a major bonus - although being highly self critical I haen't been particularly pleased with myself.  Discovered I suck at selling advertising so have canned that and am focusing on my writing and, quietly, my crafting ideas (himself isn't keen on the crafting).  We're also "rebirthing" himselfs business so I'm making that a focus, treating it like a job (without pay although I might resuscitate paying myself for the work input - doesn't make a difference to our finances - means I just take less drawings from the business).

WIP Check
Thought I might add this in as a way to get myself moving on things.
  • Decorations for a Christmas Decoration Swap.  Am about 80% finished this with just over a week to go.
  • KAL.  Up to date with Tikki's Mystery KAL although the next step is through today and my wool is currently "cooking" in it's dye batch in the microwave as we speak.  Keeping my fingers crossed that this will turn out well as I'm designating it as a Christmas present for Logan.
  • Zoes Christmas Dress.  Am about 70% finished.  It's an easy cotton knit and I'm happy with how it's going.
  • Gabriellas Spring Butterfly.  Groan - I should never have volunteered to do this for her birthday in December but having said I would I am now going to have to get to work and get further than the gauge swatch. (not the mention the matching one for her doll!!!)
  • Zoe's Christmas Doll Stroller - Wait for a post about this little beauty.
  • I'm sure there are more but for now this will do!!!
