Handmade Christmas

Most years I try to do handmade but I always end up leaving it way way too late.  Last year I ended up having to do a rushed shop just before Christmas because I didn't quite have "anything" finished.

In the past however I've come up with a few things that have gone over relatively well.

I've blurred out the photos of the inlawas presents as I'm not sure they'd like the "publicity".  And I've only done close ups of my kids.  These were a Christmas 2008 present and I know that the inlaws are still using theirs today which I'm proud of.  There is also a 4th one with SIL's pups in the photos.  I've only got the close up so won't put it on here in case she doesn't want it "displayed".

Owls for Elliott.  A friends little girl loves birds so this was a good present for her one Christmas.

The skittles were a flop.  Nobody played with them - except the ball which is still being played with.  I'm going to remove the shapes and repurpose them.  I think they need to be a little older for skittles - might think of something else further down the track.

The Fishing Game was a great idea I thought.  I made two sets, one for a friends kids and one for mine.  I still haven't finished mine.  As of today I've decided to pull them out of the WIP box and finish them.  I don't think there's much work to be done and I'd rather have them in the "Gift" box than sitting around half done.

You work hard to make something special - real leather, hand stitched, easily adjustable and fits all his tools.  And does he wear it?  No!
