... we like op shops.
I know, I know, you don't hear from me for days and then I go mad on one day! That's me to a T - all or nothing!
But I've just had a great morning/lunch time. Promised Zoe and Logan a trip to McDonalds for lunch. I thought it would be good for me to be able to sit at the tables in the play area and knit - some me time while they played. On the way in though I stopped at my favourite op shop where Zoe scored a $2 mix bag that turned out to be well worth it - she was after a key ring - well there were two in it, plus an assortment of some pretty cool Barbie clothes, a yo yo (which she's been after for some time) a couple of stamps - one of which I convinced her to give to Logan because it was a truck - I think I'll use that to decorate birthday cards or something like that, a robot that she happily handed over to Logan PLUS they threw in the 20 cent truck Logan wanted and the 50 cent watch Zoe wanted. I nabbed a piece of material that will line a purse I'm making out of some tie dying Zoe did at Kindy 50 cents for that, a dress that I'll repurpose, lovely material and a Sleeping Beauty DVD which Zoe is currently watching.
So I couldn't resist and stopped at the Hospice Shop prior to McD's. One top and two skirts later plus some other little bits and pieces and we had a haul.
Pick the items to repurpose - I also bought a couple of bits of fabric from Ikes.
But THIS is the piece de resistance - I actually had one of these when I was a kid...
It's a Knit Magic and I have very fond memories of making Barbie dresses and blankets with this. Zoe seems happy too although she hasn't been able to use it yet (yes I am embarrassed by that confession). She's got a knitting dollie that does french knitting but it takes her half an hour to do one round - with this she can whizz up a Barbie dress in minutes which should be much more fun for her. I picked up a bag of wool for $1 too.
I'm nabbing the full ball of Magic Garden but will tidy up the rest for Zoe to use on the Knit Magic. Does that look a little like Magicline to you? It's not unfortunately - it's either acrylic or wool.
OK, I'd better get this put away before himself gets home and realises I've been spending money - not that he spends less than I do - he's far worse - but he's not very supporive of my op shop addiction. Ooops - gotta go - there's a chook pacing the garden fence - the chase is on!!!
