Goodness I'm getting popular!!! WARNING - ALL TALK NO PHOTOS :o)

Sorry to go on about it but it's such a buzz to get followers and now I have two LOL  I'll have to watch my p's and q's now and stop writing drivel - but it's unfortunately what I'm good at.

Good news is that Marty is giving the business one last go with the help from a good friend (who will do all the stuff that Marty wanted ME to do and that I could never get into the swing of).  My plan of action will still go ahead and I'll continue job hunting and working on my money earning projects.  Necessary Decadence will still be on go slow but after I've finished my swaps I want to work a bit harder at it - I don't think one pattern on Felt counts as a shop - although to be fair to myself it DID sell one copy on the first day of listing!!!  I've had a tonne of ideas that I can't wait to get into but as usual I have crafts with deadlines on the agenda.  Hopefully I'll be able to keep feeling the love for my ideas until I've got those out of the way - it usually wanes and I end up back where I started from a few months later ie lots of ideas but more WIP deadlines!

I'm hopefully going to do an interview for my second Valley Voice article today.  I haven't heard back from my interviewee confirming the time so I might end up with an afternoon to myself as I've organised Logans Grandma to look after him for the afternoon.  I'm being sent on errands this morning - items to finish jobs so that we can invoice and finally have some funds to pay overdue accounts *eek*  I HATE being in unarranged debt - I take it so personally.

Another thing I hate is phones!  I absolutely suck at making phone calls to people.  Marty is always telling me to call but I prefer to email - I can just put it so much better that way.  Which is why my "new work opportunity" is so inappropriate for me.  No it's not "Hi I'm JJ and I'm awfully sorry to interrupt your dinner, is that screaming children I hear in the background, well I'm selling timeshares to the "Where-the-heck-are-we" resort hotel in Namibia (no offense to Namibia I just like the way it sounds although no doubt I've spelled it incorrectly) and if you'd just like to give me your credit card details I'll get back to you next week with the rest of the information.  No? But why not, it's so cheap at only $15,000 and you get a free resort pen with it."

No it's selling advertising space within the magazine I'm writing the articles for.  The owner is such a lovely person.  She actually contacted us about advertising a few months back and although I know her I didn't realise it was her or she, me.  What I do remember is that she was friendly, happy and not in the least bit pushy.  When her daughter in law gave me the heads up about her needing help in the sales area I initially though "No way" but remembering her sales technique has made me think that I might be able to.  So far I've had nobody commit but I do have someone interested - ok so it's the barefoot trimmer I wrote the article about last time but it's still someone!!!  It's really quite silly - I don't know why I can't do it.  I'm here bearing my soul to complete strangers who must think all kinds of things about me but I'm worried about someone on the other end of the phone line thinking I'm too pushy LOL.

Anyway I've had The Warehouse online application form open on my desktop since Thursday (or maybe even Wednesday).  I've completed it bar one section - the verbal covering letter - yes it's the phone thing again - got to put my "script" together and get my Rescue Remedy out although it helps that I'll only be talking to an answerphone!  The last job I didn't get was for the hours of 5.30-9pm which I thought would be great, allowing me to do the advertising sales and spend time with the kids so I've become less keen on applying for daytime positions.  The red shed is hiring over Christmas which could be a good place to start.

Well here comes Zoe - good sleep for her and Logan is STILL asleep - that never happens.  Time to go though.  If you got this far congratulations - I am the queen of wafflers!!!
