I'm a bargain hunter. Perhaps you've already figured that out and I'm stating the obvious but it has to be said. MOST of my stash of yarn has been purchased from op shops and from other people destashing at cheap prices. SOME of it has come from shops but usually because it was on sale or if full price it's cheap wool - ie Spotlight. My best find has been the $2 shop where they've been selling 35gram balls of white and cream for $2. Because I love to dye I've been buying several balls of this at a time. Unfortunately so has someone else because every time I go in the stock has dwindled LOL. I bought one shop out and then moved onto the next one and last week grabbed the last 7 balls before someone else did *grin*. It should keep me going for a wee while anyway!!
I recently bought some Wool Company Utiku from a friend - well it was six or eight months ago - but I suddenly realised that if I didn't buy so much 'scrap' from op shops I could actually afford decent wool - not so much decent wool but hey I'm someone with one 60 litre container bursting with wool, one with acrylic and one getting close to being full of cotton - I can't knit fast enough to keep up. Then last week I caved. I was looking at the Wicked Knits website and fell in love with Oceans from a recent dye batch. Then I noticed they were giving free post if you bought two - so I bought Eclipse from a previous dye batch. At the time I had an inkling that I could make a Milo for Logan - or two - I don't actually have the pattern yet and didn't have any plans to make it pior to this but it's not my fault the colours were calling out to me. Of course I COULD have just copied the colours - but for once I don't even feel guilty - I LIKED buying it. And it's so soft and lovely. I just love it.
I must be in love - I added it to my stash in Ravelry - the first lot yet!!!!
