Thirty Days of Me - Day One

Hey - nobody said it had to be an up to date photo (edit - oops - yes it did - it said recent!) - this is me at 2 days old - and mum of course which give or take probably around 30 or 40 kilos at this point is a similar look to me now - oh ok.....

Excuse the photography - she's got a few years to develop her style being only 4 and a half!.

15 interesting things about me....

  1. I have a phenomenally short attention span as far as projects go - there's always another idea that I "have to start today".
  2. I have two horses but I'm not really a horseperson - I don't compete (I don't actually ride at the moment - haven't since I broke my leg which, by the time it healed meant I was too far along in my pregnancy with Logan to risk starting out riding again) and I would really call my two pets.
  3. I'm a crafter jack of all trades master of none - I love to try everything to do with crafting.
  4. I'm a perfectionist when I'm making something for somebody else but tend to rush my own projects - working on that one!!
  5. I dye my hair blonde - but as you can see by my kids I actually was blonde at one point - it just faded to mousey as I got older.  HOWEVER I took a risk about a week ago and am now officially a redhead LOL.  (feeding my horse the other day I reaslied how close my hair colour is to her chestnut coat colour!!!)
  6. I was born in the UK and suffer from a terrible affliction known as English Sense of Humour - am very surprised when people laugh at my jokes and sarky comments - not everyone gets it.  (We moved here when I was 3 so I don't have an accent).  I never INTEND to offend anybody which leads me to....
  7. I'm a chronic "please like me" person.  Have been hampered with that affliction forever and wouldn't wish it on my kids.
  8. I love to write.  I've had several articles published and a couple of short stories and have had a novel in my head for years - unfortunately it hasn't made it to paper.  I actually had an idea for a novel about 15 years ago that I regret not writing now that the whole Twilight/Vampire Diaries culture has exploded into existance - I could have made it!!!!!
  9. I can sing.  There is no way I'd audition for Idol but I'm pretty good.
  10. I hate housework - it shows at the moment and after watching one of those housework programmes this morning I'm feeling very embarrassed and am rushing around cleaning in between writing this and making decorations for a Christmas Swap.
  11. My whole life is cluttered.  Not just the house but my head as well :o)
  12. My partner had his toenails painted on one foot by his best friends girlfriend last night, after that they let fireworks off outside another mates bedroom window and then hid from him  - that gives you an insight into what he's like - I'm the opposite!!!
  13. I'm an only child.  I was definitely NOT a spoilt BRAT but I was spoilt - lots of material things but lots of rules, values and morals instilled in me.
  14. My mum died of gas inhalation a month after my 8th birthday - it was intentional.  I miss her hugely however her death has kept my own well and truly at bay - at least until it's actually my time to go (and not by my own hand :o) )
  15. Although my life is filled with regrets I would NEVER go back and change a thing.  The risk that any changes would jeopardise what I have in my two beautiful children is just not worth it.  I wouldn't risk them for the world.
So there you have it :o)

  1. That is a gorgeous photo of you and your mum, you look so much like her, really beautiful! I am so sorry you lost her, I'm really glad it sounds like you have learned from her. xxx

  2. Thank you Genevieve. That's a lovely thing to say. I don't really think of myself as beautiful so it's a buzz when someone says so - I was never one of the beautiful people - completely unfashionable, like my food to much that I've now put on a huge number of kilos and don't feel able yet to start that diet to budge them. I mostly like who I am on the inside - a WIP but that's who I'm proud of - and yes that's a lot to do with Mum (and subsequently my firt stepmother who taught me well).
