1. Ringbinder. Used it to set up our Operations Managers files - so he can take it with him and it's no longer cluttering up the box with the dozen other ringbinders *grin*
2. One of those big checkered plasticy bags you can buy from the $2 shop. Well beyond it's best days. Sorted out the junk that was in it to new homes and am filling it with paper based rubbish.
3. An old and faded sweat rug for my horse from the days when I bought everything available for horses even if I didn't need it - this was completely unnecessary item, particularly as I competed once a year - if that! - In the bin.
4. The padded cover for the front stroller bar of a stroller I no longer own. In the bin.
5. The kite Daddy made for the kids one day that he never perfected enough to make it fly and has since been "rolling" around the paddock being stepped on by cows and horses. In the bin.
6. Instructions for a Hip Seat that I no longer own! - In the bin.
7. A whole lot of old blank Christmas Cards moved to Zoes craft box - we're going to make Christmas Collage pennants tomorrow. The envelopes are in our envelope drawer - they'll be a big help. (Zoe is currently wailing because when I suggested we do the collage tomorrow she didn't want to wait - it's that stage of life where you have to do everything now, give her her own way now and if you don't the volume gets turned up - no tears mind you - just noise, whingeing and whining).
8. I'm kind of stretching things again but I just resurrected an old black plastic rubbish bin from under our trees to collect grey water for the garden. Our tanks are already getting low and the drip from our kitchen sink is collecting two buckets a day minimum which I'm filling the horses water trough up with. Any grey water from baths, dishes, washing etc can be transferred to the bin and used to water the garden - problem is I only think of these things when it's raining so I don't actually have to water the garden today!!! Oh and we'll stop the mozzies breeding by coating the top with a layer of cooking oil and throwing the lid on it.
9. One Thigh Master exercise "machine" - the little ones you squeeze between your thighs to tone them up - yeah right!
10 . Two wooden picture frames with glass fronts - converted into fabric wall hangings. I've blogged a little about today's creative endeavour here.
And mystery of the day....
What in the world is this?!!!!!
It came from Himselfs box - that is one of two enormous - think drier sized - boxes that he has carted around with him at least since I've known him and possibly well before that. Today I went through them - or rather I transferred the items from one of them into an old suitcase of mine so it can be zipped up and tidied away for when he either sorts it out or dies of old age - lottery on to figure which comes first - watch this space in a few decades!!!!
And we both had a good laugh at this.....
Take a closer look at the model name......
I do believe our kids will probably get just as much laugh at what we have at the moment though... "What, no telportation button?" And "Are you kidding, you didn't have your communication devices implanted?!"
I've got to say I'm enjoying this challenge immensely. As I declutter I've ended up sorting other things away as well and I've thrown out a tonne of paper based rubbish. I do think this is going to evolve into a "finishing off the WIP" or "upcycle it" challenge as I run out of things to simply get out of the house and start using them for things but overall it's a great motivation to get things done.
