Op Shopper!

On Monday I took the kids to the Op Shop with $2 each to spend.  Zoe LOVES the Op Shop because she can buy so much for so little and I like taking her there for that reason.  Unfortunately she's got it into her head that every shop is like the op shop and quite often gets upset when I won't let her buy something because "someone else will buy it and it won't be there next time".  It's taking a wee bit of explaining has that!!!

But what I came out with on Monday made me go back yesterday and buy up the rest of them because I have an idea for my Felt shop...

They are self covered badges.  I bought ten of them the first day at 10 cents each.  I'm not keen on the fabric but I found I can easily pull them apart without breaking them and then I can cover and embroider them to seel in ND.  I went back yesterday and bought up the other 16.  I'm fairly sure I could put a $4.50 price tag on them if I make them very special - we'll see.

Today I couldn't resist popping into another op shop to see what they have.  Dropped Zoe at Kindi and Logan and I explored the first one in Orewa.  Came out with some lovely fabric to make myself a bag, a jade green velvet cord piece that is just beautiful for which I have NO idea what I'm going to do, a piece of bright pink tulle that of course will suit any princess or fairy outfit I make for Zoe, some ends of rolls of baby pink cotton which I can combine with some I have to knit up a multi textured dishcloth, a large ball of pure wool that might make a nice felted bag or basket, a book of knitting stitch explanations which I guess I could have found on the net but it's quite nice to be able to see them in a book, a slinky for Logan and a balloon which he put in his mouth straight away so I really had to buy it!!!

It's put me in a good mood for my interview this afternoon and as Logan has just woken up I'm on time to do everything and drop into Spotlight as well.  I want to match up some painted acrylic my neighbour bought with some plain so I can make her daughter a Spring Butterfly.  She wanted to learn how to knit so I might give her some lessons (if she ever stops talking) and I'll first of all tell her the difference between acrylic and wool (I know, I'm a snob).  I have to laugh though - she bought three 100g balls of Marvel painted acrylic - that's around 900 yards in total - for a hat!

Oh and I also got these little purses yesterday.  I love my little purses.  Got Zoe a wallet for 50 cents and it had 3.15 worth of stamps inside that somebody had forgotten to take out - yay.
