A cliche based in truth. Roll your eyes if you must but it's as good a place as any for me to start this blog.
If there is one thing in life that motivates and inspires me it's creativity - taking something and making it into something else. After two solid weeks of accounts, interrupted only by the day to day workings of my life when I finally got around to making something I was in seventh heaven. I can't even remember what it was but I know it was tiny without much thought - simple but nice. That's when I realised that my life isn't complete without creativity in it. The problem is to keep the balance. Creativity doesn't pay the bills (well, not yet) and my long suffering partner has put up with about all he can handle. But that's another story and this blog is about having somewhere to go to give myself a boost when I'm down - either by browsing what I've already completed or loading and writing about something new.
The idea came from the buzz I get from looking at other websites where people load photos of things they've completed. But with that buzz comes ideas - great if you have the time - not so good when you already have an ideas list a country mile long - not to mention most of materials to furnish that list even though you don't have the time to do everything. This does NOT bode well for my state of mind. I'm not saying I won't visit those sites LOL. To stay away would be an impossible feat. But if I have my own place I think I can combat the urge to dwell on what I don't have time to do by recognising what I have done.
I'm going to begin by focusing on Stash Busting. I have so much material that I've just sorted through most of it and am about to sell it at cut prices just to get rid of it. I have masses though that I've kept and I need to work on getting that used. My aim in life is to walk into a fabric shop and think "I'd like to make XXX a XXX. I'm going to buy that fabric and go home and make it." At the moment it's more like "I cannot buy any more fabric until I've made XXX, XXX and XXX. And if I really want to make XXX then I need to make sure I don't have something that will work in my stash!!!"
I'm also not going to make this a timeline of items I've made. I have a few things I've already made that I want to post here just so that I can look at them.
